Fresh Collective

Community

Key to the Fresh Collective business strategy is to succeed through community and teamwork. We make choices that help elevate our neighbourhoods, other small businesses and empower individuals around us. We partner with businesses that align with our values. In addition, we develop our own programs that will create the future fashion industry that we envision.

We view business as a creative expression that is there to uplift all people who interact with our business.

This page outlines just some of the partnerships and programs we use daily in the operation of our business.

Working with independent designers – The core of our business is working with independent Canadian designers. We have cultivated a client base over 20+ years in the fashion industry in Toronto, and we work daily to source the unique and exciting fashions and accessories from independent designers that our client base is looking for. As well, we work to help the new and emerging designers that we work with to understand what the clients’ needs and preferences are. We use the statistics and data from our years of experience to help new designers understand what will sell and why. Our success depends on theirs, and we work to share our knowledge and expertise.

Bullfrog power – All our stores are powered with 100% green energy from Bullfrog Power.

FGI (Fashion Group International) – FGI Toronto is the Toronto chapter of a global fashion networking non-profit organization founded in 1928 in New York. Fresh Collective’s CEO, Laura-Jean Bernhardson serves on the board of FGI Toronto in the role of Creative Director. For more info and to apply for membership, click here »

Do Better Program – This is an in-store program in partnership with Plan Canada designed to raise money for The Mom Shop. The Mom Shop supports women around the world in developing countries as they build their own businesses. Through this initiative, Plan Canada provide micro-loans, training and other support for the women to have their own self-sustaining businesses.

Style Profile – A weekly feature on our blog, we love to feature and promote the women who make Toronto great. Artists, entrepreneurs, teachers, politicians and all kinds of women have been featured and given a platform to showcase their project or values.

Art of Fashion – Art of Fashion is a Canadian organization which offers emerging apparel and accessory designers a platform to showcase their talents, in addition to a wealth of marketing and promotional opportunities that foster career growth. Fresh Collective partners with Art of Fashion in various capacities to offer educational and business development opportunities to emerging designers.
